PyAline is a python implementation of
Grzegorz Kondrak's ALINE phonetic alignment algorithm. It has been implemented with both Kondrak's original phonetic inventory and the phonetic inventory of the
ASJP project's phonetic invetory so that both can be used when making alignments. It's also written in python as a library so it can be easily included in other pieces of software, specifically an ASJP-like language family tree builder.
To read more about how PyAline compared with ASJP's language similarity judgments, read my thesis
here (in pdf).
